Hello, I'm Wojciech Grodzicki. I'm a game programmer.
It hasn't always been the case, though, since my original background is in life sciences. While I was working as a university researcher, I re-discovered my childhood passion for video games. I started tinkering and modding them myself, soon falling in love with the beautiful world of programming. I was hooked. I decided to switch careers and become a game developer. I completed a post-graduate programme in Software Engineering and managed to land my first role in the industry.
Since then I've been sharpening my coding and game development skills, with focus on gameplay programming, where the design and technology merge into the final player experience.
I've worked on both multi- and single-player games for different platforms (Windows, iOS, Android, WebGL), including genres such as FPP survival horror, metroidvania, platformer, battle royale or shooter. I collaborate closely with designers and artists to have an insight into the entire game development pipeline and ensure we provide the best game feeling to the players.
Currently I work at Out of the Ordinary, where I'm involved in the development of two projects: a multiplayer battle royale and a submarine shooter for mobile platforms. I focus on gameplay and UI programming in Unity using C#. Every day I'm excited to build something new and make it work in a seamless manner. And I'm still hooked!
